GEMATRIA AND ARMAGEDDON:
On the other pages of this website I have used an unusual method of gematria in which sentences consistent with what is written in Scripture are composed using root words in Hebrew in a sort of “short hand translation.” The numerical values of these sentences has been demonstrated to confirm the truth regarding what is written regarding Jesus as a result of specific numerical values associated with His name written in Greek: 888 (Jesus), 1480 (Christ), 2368 (Jesus Christ), and 3168 (Lord Jesus Christ). The same method of gematria has been used to consistently reveal hidden truth regarding creation, the nation of Israel, and end time prophecy. This has occurred through specific numerical values as well as random values which are equal to that of Greek words directly associated with the sentence consistent with scriptural truth. (As with the gematria evidence shown on the other webpages, on this webpage I will indicate the identifying number according toStrong’s Concordance for each root word used in a sentence, and calculate the gematria values for each sentence which will then reveal hidden truth.)
In the Book of Revelation a war between the forces of good and evil has been prophesied. The vision which John has recorded in Revelation is difficult to follow because so much of it is symbolic in nature. In Chapter 16, John writes of his vision in which the spirits of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet gather the kings of earth for the battle into a place called Armageddon. In Chapter 20, a vision is described in which Satan gathers an army for the battle and surrounds the camp of the saints and the “beloved city”. Between the mention of these two battles John writes that witnesses for the Lord will be raised from the dead to live and reign with the Lord for a thousand years. Satan is bound until the thousand years are finished, and then loosed a little while to deceive the nations. Then Satan will gather his army for battle. Are these visions to be taken literally, or symbolically? Is the thousand years an actual period of time, or symbolic? Is the thousand years that is mentioned before Christ returns or after? Gematria seems to reveal that there is to be only one final battle, not two, and the thousand years (either literal or symbolic) comes before the return of Christ. When Christ returns it will be to destroy sin and Satan forever.
In Chapter 9 of Revelation, John writes: And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key to the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose smoke out of the pit… and there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth… And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. Revelation 9: 1-3, 11. The angel of the bottomless pit would seem to be Satan, who is said to have been cast into the bottomless pit in Chapter 20: And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years. And cast him into the bottomless pit… that he deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season… And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Revelation 20: 1-3, 7-10.
First, note how gematria through the method I have used confirms the identity of the “angel of the bottomless pit.”

Earlier in Revelation John writes of his vision of a woman who gives birth to a manchild while the dragon waits to devour him, but the manchild is “caught up unto God and to his throne.” The woman is then protected by God in the wilderness. Then John writes: And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12: 17. In Hebrew “wroth with” can be written with at least two different words for “wroth,” and either one of two words for “with,” or with no word for “with.” Some of these options will be used in the following.
